In March 2025, Zebra Technologies officially ended service and support for the TC70 mobile computer. If your operation is running TC70 devices, manufacturer warranty, Zebra OneCare support, and official repair programs are no longer available.
That does not mean your TC70s are done. Red Barcode Planet repairs TC70 mobile computers with 48-hour turnaround for single devices and small batches, a 90-day parts and labor warranty, and No Fix No Fee. We have repaired Zebra devices since 2014 — including models years past manufacturer support.
What Zebra TC70 end of support means
End of service life (EOSL) means Zebra Technologies has formally ended:
- Zebra OneCare repair coverage for TC70 devices
- Official firmware and OS updates
- Technical support from Zebra for TC70 hardware faults
- Manufacturer replacement parts supply through official channels
What EOSL does not mean: your TC70 devices stop working, or that independent repair is unavailable. Red Barcode Planet operates independently of Zebra's support timeline. We source quality replacement parts through our own supply chain and repair TC70 devices the same way we repair current-generation models.
Common TC70 repairs after end of support
Screen and display replacement — from $210
The TC70 touchscreen is the most commonly damaged component. Drop damage cracks the glass and digitizer.
Battery replacement — from $143
TC70 batteries are now several years old in most deployments. Capacity degradation is the most common TC70 fault — a battery delivering 4 hours instead of 8 is a repair, not a replacement.
Scan engine repair — from $209
TC70 scan engine failure after high-cycle warehouse use is repairable. We assess and confirm the fault before recommending replacement.
WiFi and connectivity repair — from $324
TC70 devices dropping off warehouse networks often have antenna or radio module damage from repeated drops.
Housing repair — from $186
Cracked housings and damaged port covers extend TC70 working life in operations not yet ready for a platform transition.
Firmware and software — from $123
TC70 devices running legacy WMS applications occasionally develop configuration issues resolvable without hardware replacement.

Is repairing a TC70 worth it after EOSL?
The TC70's current replacement — the Zebra TC52 or TC57 — costs $900–$1,100 new. A TC70 battery replacement at $143 extends device life at roughly 11% of new replacement cost. Screen replacement at $210 is 18% of new device cost. For single-fault repairs, the economics are straightforward.
Real-World Example
A Midwest 3PL running 40 TC70 devices across two distribution centers was told by their Zebra reseller after March 2025 that the only path forward was full fleet replacement at roughly $40,000. Sending the worst 12 units to Red Barcode Planet — primarily battery and screen failures — restored the fleet at under $3,000 total, with 90-day warranty coverage on every repair.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
Replacing the entire TC70 fleet when single-fault repairs cost 10–20% of new device price.
Assuming EOSL means independent repair is unavailable — it doesn't.
Discarding TC70 devices with degraded batteries when a $143 battery swap restores 8-hour shifts.
Waiting until peak season to address fleet health on an EOSL platform.
