Services Description

Red Barcode Planet provides:

• Barcode scanner repair services for all major brands (Zebra, Honeywell, Motorola/Symbol, Intermec, Datalogic)
• Refurbished and used barcode scanner sales
• Scanner fleet management and maintenance support
• Free pickup and delivery for Chicago-area businesses (20+ device minimum)
• Nationwide mail-in repair service

Repair Service Terms

Diagnosis and Quotes:

• We provide free diagnostic assessments and repair quotes
• Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued
• Final repair costs may vary if additional issues are discovered during repair, in which case we will contact you for approval before proceeding

Turnaround Time:

• Most repairs are completed within 48 hours of receiving your device
• Turnaround times are estimates and may vary based on parts availability and repair complexity
• We will notify you if a repair will take longer than the estimated timeframe

No Fix, No Fee Guarantee:

• If we determine that your device cannot be repaired cost-effectively, you pay nothing — not even shipping
• "Beyond economical repair" determination is made by our experienced technicians at their professional discretion

Warranty Terms

Repair Warranty:

• All repairs come with a 90-day parts and labor warranty
• The warranty covers defects in workmanship and replaced parts only
• The warranty does not cover new damage, liquid damage, misuse, or issues unrelated to the original repair
• To make a warranty claim, contact us within 90 days of receiving your repaired device

Refurbished Scanner Warranty:

• All refurbished scanners include a 90-day warranty
• The warranty covers hardware defects and functionality issues present at the time of sale
• The warranty does not cover damage from drops, liquid exposure, or misuse after delivery

Shipping and Risk of Loss

Mail-In Repairs:

• You are responsible for securely packaging your device(s) for shipment to our facility
• We are not liable for damage that occurs during inbound shipping
• We ship repaired devices back via insured carrier
• Risk of loss transfers to you upon carrier pickup of the return shipment

Chicago Pickup and Delivery:

• Free pickup and delivery is available for Chicago-area businesses with 20 or more devices
• We handle all packaging and transportation for pickup orders
• Coverage area includes: Wheeling, Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Naperville, Downtown Chicago, O'Hare area, Elk Grove Village, Rosemont, and surrounding suburbs

Payment Terms

• Payment is due upon completion of repair or at time of purchase for refurbished units
• We accept major credit cards, ACH transfers, and company checks (for established accounts)
• Net 30 payment terms may be available for qualified business accounts
• Past due balances may accrue interest at 1.5% per month

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Our total liability for any claim arising from our Services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• We are not liable for data loss on devices submitted for repair — you are responsible for backing up your data before sending devices to us
• We are not liable for business interruption or lost profits resulting from device downtime

Intellectual Property

All content on our Site — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of Red Barcode Planet, Inc. or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.

User Conduct

When using our Site, you agree not to:

• Submit false or misleading information
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with the operation of our Site
• Use our Site for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from our Site without permission

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Red Barcode Planet, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of our Site or Services, or your violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our Services shall be resolved in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.

Dispute Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to first contact us at krisk@redbarcodeplanet.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve any dispute within 90 days of receiving your written notice.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of our Site or Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
